Ghana Update: National Skills Exhibition

Tetrefu ICCES represented all of the Integrated Community Centres for Employable Skills in Ghana during the national skills exhibition this month. The Exhibition was organised by the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in collaboration with the Kumasi Technical University with the theme of “Skills Development to Improve Youth Development”.

Over 300 Vocational and Technical schools participated in the programme which attracted key figures, such as the Minister of Education for Ghana and the Deputy Minister in touch of Vocational and Technical Education. This event saw participants from selected vocational and technical schools across the country showcase what they have been teaching at the various schools.

We were delighted to see Tetrefu ICCES, who we have been working with since 2013, participating in this important exhibition and showcasing some amazing work from its students.

The computer training we’re providing is equipping our students to with the electronic drafting skills to produce these wonderful designs, such as dresses and chandeliers.

The beautiful, locally-made chandeliers were particularly popular with the ministers, who encouraged our students from rural Ghana to keep up the good work!
