CYD team finish unloading the container

Our container with 1600 PCs arrives at CYD, Malawi

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, our largest container ever has arrived at the Centre for Youth and Development (CYD) in Mzuzu, Malawi. An amazing team of staff and volunteers worked together to unload the 40 ft container in a single day.

Their next challenge is to check all the computers before deploying them in schools. Our projects have already increased the proportion of schools in the Northern Region of Malawi with computers from 2% to 32%.

Setting up a computer lab at Nkhata Bay Secondary School, MalawiThis shipment will ensure many thousands more students are able to access computers and learn digital skills in the classroom.

You can keep track of the schools involved in our projects in Malawi on our website – look out for the interactive map which shows the location of the schools we are working with (including photos).
