A Visit From Colin Beattie, MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh

Last month we were honoured to have Colin Beattie, MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh, visit our workshop. Colin met with us to learn more about our work and discover how we are helping to empower disadvantaged communities with the help of your donated IT equipment.

“I am hugely impressed with the work the staff and volunteers at the Turing Trust are undertaking in my constituency to help classrooms in Africa access these much needed resources in this new digital world.”

Mr Beattie (SNP)

Along with discussing the vital impact of IT skills and equipment in the UK and Malawi, we explored ongoing considerations of how Scottish Development International could support Scotland’s smaller charities in the future.

In spite of continuing challenges with the pandemic, we have made considerable progress on many of our goals – we hope to further this impact with additional support moving forward. The past year has been a fantastic one for our computer donation charity and it’s all thanks to your donations and support. Thank you for helping us build a brighter future for students across the globe.

If you want to transform your old IT equipment into an invaluable tool for learning, head to our computer donation page to learn more about recycling your technology and explore the impacts your donations could have.
