We chose The Turing Trust as the recipient of our computer donation because of their incredible work to bridge the digital divide in Africa. We were inspired by their mission to provide education and training opportunities to underprivileged communities. These partnerships ensure that the computers we donate will be put to good use and make a real difference in people's lives. We were also impressed by their focus on sustainability, which ensures that the technology we provide will be functional for as long as possible. We are truly excited to be a part of the positive change that The Turing Trust is creating and we believe that our donation will have a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford is proud of and committed to its long standing partnership with The Turing Trust in not only supporting its outreach mission by providing inclusive access to education for the betterment of society, but also its environmental and sustainability objectives relating to upcycling, sustainability and CO2 emissions. It really is an organisational ‘no brainer’ in repurposing equipment in this way to the benefit of others that would otherwise end up in waste disposal or landfill.

Helping schools in Africa through The Turing Trust supports our company’s mission to make learning accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world and at any time. We are fully supportive of the good work The Turing Trust does to support students in Africa to develop essential skills for their future.

We’ve been working with The Turing Trust on coordinating regular equipment donations from the CodeBase community. It is for the benefit of responsibility that companies should take action and support The Turing Trust’s mission.

The Turing Trust is a fantastic organisation and after hearing the team speak so enthusiastically about their work at Young EDGE, I was delighted that we were able to make our own contribution to their ongoing efforts. There are so many benefits of reusing equipment in this way, not least the opportunities it provides to young people who might not otherwise have access to digital skills.

It is a privilege to work with The Turing Trust repurposing equipment which still works but doesn’t quite meet the demands of our organisation. As an environmental charity, we are deeply connected with sustainability. It is brilliant that this equipment continues to have a use and in such a worthwhile way.

The repurposing of technology - that would otherwise end up in waste disposal or landfill - to benefit others has such a positive impact on the communities they serve. Bupa’s purpose is to ‘help people live longer, healthier, happier lives and make a better world’. We see this in action with our charity partner, The Turing Trust. Since 2021, we’ve donated hundreds of surplus laptops and pieces technology equipment, so they can to benefit those in need. Our donations have given thousands of children in Malawi access to computers in their classrooms, as well benefitted families and refugees within the UK too. The work The Turing Trust does is fantastic. It's a great way to recycle hardware, prevent waste and support people to access technology and learn new skills.

The reuse and recycling of materials is central to Reconomy’s ’think circular’ ethos. We’re delighted to donate otherwise redundant IT equipment to the Turing Trust so that thousands more children will benefit from the opportunity to learn vital IT skills that are so crucial to their learning and development. Minimising waste is a core component to the Circular Economy and the positive environmental impact from these donations is evidence of why this transition is so important.
