A Purposeful Partnership: Bringing Digital Learning to Schools Across Africa

The African Adventures Foundation is a charity that provides support to schools in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar. Since starting their work in 2013, they have impacted more than 25,000 children’s lives in Africa.

With our missions so closely aligned, we were thrilled to have an opportunity to partner with the foundation to broaden our impact and make quality education more accessible for those who need it most.

“African Adventures Foundation is grateful for our ongoing partnership with the Turing Trust, and we deeply value the shared commitment to expanding digital access for underserved communities.”

In a bid to bring digital education to more students across Africa, we recently donated 50 laptops to the foundation, which have since been distributed to partner schools in Kenya, Ghana and Zanzibar. A spokesperson from the African Adventures Foundation adds: “Your generous contribution of 50 laptops continues to strengthen digital education and create new learning opportunities for students who previously had limited or no access to technology.”

Donations in action

In Kenya, 14 laptops were distributed across 2 schools, benefitting 530 children, with a further 8 scheduled for allocation this year. One of those schools is Angalo Hills Academy, a school which previously had no access to digital devices.

“Our goal is to ensure every laptop reaches a classroom where it will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your support and continued partnership. Your contribution is helping to transform digital education for students in Africa who need it most, and we are deeply grateful for the impact we are able to make together.”

Esther, the Director of Angalo Hills, adds: “This has been a huge step forward for us. We did not have Laptops to teach our students, which is a requirement from the government while being certified. I believe we were on the brink of being closed.

Now that we have the laptops, we no longer get the threats, and their visits have ceased. We are very grateful to the foundation and all its donors for making this happen.”

Ungana Academy is another school in Kenya which has benefited from refurbished laptops. Like Angalo Hills, the nursery and primary school previously had no access to digital devices, meaning pupils were learning about computers solely from the blackboard.

Now, more than 250 students have access to laptops, helping to enhance their learning, develop new skills and make lessons more engaging.

Partnerships like this are fundamental to improving education and ensuring every child has access to real opportunities in life. With your continued support, we can continue to contribute to projects like this.

If you have any unwanted digital devices, please head to our ‘Give Computers’ page to learn more about our donations process.
