Bridging the Digital Divide with Aberdeen Investments

Earlier this quarter, we welcomed the Aberdeen Investments Sustainable Investment team to our warehouse here in Edinburgh for their first corporate volunteering day.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting stuck in to help us prepare the IT equipment for our next container shipment to Malawi. In just one day, they packed an incredible 112 laptops and 141 monitors, which will enable over 4,500 students to access digital education.

Eilidh Duncan, a Sustainable Investment Manager at Aberdeen Investments, organised the day for her team after learning about our work. She adds, “This was our team’s first time volunteering with The Turing Trust, and it was such a rewarding experience. It was really hands-on, and a brilliant opportunity for us to get out of the office and use some of our volunteer days in a meaningful way.

It was great to know our efforts directly contribute to expanding access to digital education, and I’m really looking forward to following the updates and seeing the devices arrive in schools later this year.”

We’re so grateful to the team at Aberdeen Investments for choosing to support our charity. By donating just a few hours of their time, the team will make a lasting impact on thousands of students’ lives.

Corporate volunteering days like this not only help us scale up our impact but also give teams the chance to build new connections outside of their usual work environment. Want to get involved? Get in touch to discuss corporate volunteering opportunities for you and your team here in Edinburgh.
