Thanks to your donations and continued support, last year, we were able to send our first 40’ container to Kenya!
Throughout 2023, we distributed over 1,000 computers to schools across the country, working alongside our partners Habitat for Humanity, the Thika Alumni Trust and the Red Rubber Ball Foundation. Over the coming years, these computers will have a huge impact on Kenyan students, enabling them to access new learning resources and expand their digital skills.
We caught up with some of the schools who have benefitted from our computer reuse scheme to discover the impact your donations are having within the classroom and beyond.

One of the schools we visited was Naromoru Girls Secondary School, where we had an opportunity to chat with Computer Studies student and Head girl, Stacey Mali.
Before receiving additional computers from the Turing Trust, Stacey’s school could only accommodate 11 students for Computer Studies each year. Now, they can teach up to 30 students in each class.
Your donations mean we can expect to see an increasing number of young women enter the emerging Kenyan tech scene, with more students than ever having the opportunity to study Computer Science at university.
St. Joseph Tigithi Boys High School has also seen some fantastic results since receiving additional computers from our charity, noting a 29% increase in the average grade of their students.
We have also worked to install new computer labs at a number of primary schools across Kenya, including Chaka Primary School, which received 20 PCs via our computer reuse programme. The school now runs an after-school ICT club where students can use the computers to help with homework and build their knowledge outside of standard lessons.

Over the coming years, we hope to support 12,000 Kenyan students with our IT for Schools (Kenya) project, which aims to install 700 computers across 35 schools and community centres in Kenya.
Your donations and support will play a pivotal role in this project. If you want to get involved, head over to our ‘Give Computers’ page to find out more.
