It’s Giving Tuesday!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge starts today and we are hoping to have our best Christmas Challenge yet. Last year, we more than doubled the donations received in 2017 which allowed us to ship over 1300 computers and accessories to Malawi in March 2019 and do so much more. It was also fantastic to receive an award of £1000 from the Reed Foundation in recognition of the success of our campaign.
But what really matters is the impact we are having on equipping students with digital skills in Malawi. This year showed an increase in the percentage of students in schools that we have equipped with computer laboratories who want to study ICT at university from 11% in 2018 to 27%.
Grace is one of the few girls in her Computer Studies class at Katoto Community Day Secondary School, but is determined to study ICT at university.

This year one of our aims is to increase girls’ access to and engagement in ICT.
If you haven’t already seen this video on the Centre for Youth and Development (CYD) Facebook page, it gives you a real feel that the students in Malawi are making good use of their computers.
Please support our Christmas Challenge 2019 – all donations made during the campaign will be doubled – and if you are eligible for gift aid, that means your donation will give even more students in schools in Malawi access to computers and to a digital education.
