Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From refurbishing donated devices to developing our offline resources, they play a key role in our mission to bring technology-enabled learning to all.
One of these volunteers is Ian, who brings over 30 years of IT experience to his role at the Turing Trust.
Ian has always had a keen interest in technology. Following his retirement five years ago, he was eager to find a pastime that allowed him to keep doing what he loves without the pressure of corporate deadlines – and so he began volunteering with us.
Ian’s role allows him to leverage his expertise to make a real difference across the globe. His experience and skills have proved invaluable to our team, helping to deliver creative solutions that keep things running smoothly – even when faced with challenging equipment!
A real team player, Ian tackles any task that comes his way, from wiping systems to improving the build process. He’s even used 3D printing to replace missing components in computers.
We’re so grateful to have Ian on our volunteer team. We hope to welcome more volunteers in 2025! If you’d like to get involved, head to our ‘Volunteering’ page to learn more.
