Working with Q·Learning Nepal, we’ve distributed 30 laptops to support young people in remote areas of the country.
Q·Learning Nepal is a trust that provides grants and funds to Nepalese schools to enhance the education of young people in remote villages. The trust was founded by Lesley Warburton in 2007 following a trip to Nepal where she met Moti, a local guide who grew up in a village in the far northeast on the slopes of Kangchenjunga.
When Lesley met Moti, most of his village had no access to electricity, gas, clean water, hospitals or education – she had a drive to change this.
As Managing Director of Q. Learning Ltd, Lesley had experience working worldwide in challenging situations, but the lack of infrastructure in remote Nepal was a whole new challenge. Nevertheless, they made a promise to build a school in the village of Hangdewa. That one school has now become two, supporting children aged 4-16.

By helping these remote villages, the trust hopes to create more opportunities and better life chances through education. Many young people who have graduated from the schools are now continuing their education, studying medicine, nursing, radiography, teaching, civil engineering, electrical engineering, computers and more.
Until recently, the schools relied on old laptops that lacked the processing power necessary for children to learn coding. Our donations have changed this, enabling the students to learn the skills they need to access real opportunities in life.
“The pleasure that these young people are deriving from being able to join in on technology is huge.”
-Lesley, Founder of Q. Learning Nepal
The laptops are also supporting A-level and university students, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to succeed. One of these students is Suman, who has recently begun studying IT at Tribhuvan University. Before receiving one of our donated laptops, Suman was without which made studying outside of classes impossible. Now, Suman is able to access additional resources and study in his spare time.
