The Turing Trust New Website and Logo

The Turing Trust is delighted to annouce the launch of its new logo, brand and website. Those of you who saw our 2019 Annual Report will have had a sneak preview of our new look.

This all started in 2019 when we were lucky enough to be introduced to Nick Downes and his team at Interstate Creative Partners by Bob Bell from Grid4Good. We were hoping for some guidance on making our leaflets, flyers and reports look more professional. The team at Interstate really got involved in the project and came up with far more than we had hoped for. Not only did they provide us with templates for all the documents we use, they also came up with a fantastic new logo and branding guidelines.

Our new logo not only incorporates the initials of The Turing Trust, it also reflects our connection to Alan Turing, by using the circles to represent the keys of an Enigma machine.

The next step was to work out how to use our new branding effectively. We decided to introduce this gradually – starting with our Annual Report and a banner that was used at Amazon Development Centre in Edinburgh to promote donations of IT Equipment.

The next step was to work out how to use our new branding effectively. We decided to introduce this gradually – starting with our Annual Report and a banner that was used at Amazon Development Centre in Edinburgh to promote donations of IT Equipment. Our website is our main showcase and this was the obvious next step. Enter Dan Holt and his team from Boss Digital. This is what he has to say about working with The Turing Trust.

For some time we’d been looking to partner with a charity that’s not only making the world a better place, but doing so through the use of technology, so when we encountered the Turing Trust it felt like the perfect match.

In the digital industry it’s so easy to take for granted the technology that surrounds us; technology that does so much to connect, educate and inspire. Yet for many millions of people, this kind of technology remains out of reach. The Turing Trust are laser focused on their mission to transform lives through tech-enabled learning and after 12 months of working together it’s clear the impact they’ll be making on the communities that need this help the most.

That said, despite their family ties to technology giant Alan Turing, they’re only a small organisation and so it’s been amazing to know that the work we’re doing is having a tangible effect on their ability to make a difference. We’ve taken their updated brand identity and turned it into a new website experience that we’re optimistic will not only attract more visitors but convert them into engaged donors for the Trust. Moving forwards, we now hope to further help them communicate their message via other key digital channels, from the search engines to social media.

Lockdown proved a great opportunity to start work on our website and many Google Meets later we have a slick professional website that we feel really represents our vision and values and how we put these into practice.

We would like to pay tribute to the fantastic teams at Interstate Creative Partners and Boss Digital for all the hard work that has gone into this – we could not have done this without their support.

One of the new features of our redesigned website is our streamlined IT donations process. So please do check out how you could give any IT equipment you or your business might have now!
