Visit by Gordon MacDonald MSP

Following his motion on recycling PCs that was debated in the Scottish parliament earlier this month, we were delighted to be able to welcome Gordon MacDonald to our workshop in Newbridge, Edinburgh.

He was able to meet some of the core members of the team and see for himself how we refurbish PCs ready for schools in Malawi. He is pictured here with a stack of PCs ready for our next shipment to Malawi later this month. This shipment will contain about 1000 PCs and accessories – enough to equip computer laboratories in another 50 schools.

Following his visit, Gordon MacDonald tweeted

“Interesting visit to @TuringTrust to discuss how they recycle computer equipment for schools in Malawi. If your organisation pays to have your old computers uplifted & destroyed why not help kids in Africa by donating old PC equipment, they will wipe and save your company money!”

Really fantastic to have such great local support – thank you Gordon MacDonald.
