The most rewarding part of our work as a computer donation charity is seeing the impact your donated IT equipment has on communities around the world. This month we caught up with Preeti from the Hope Cafe, which was set up in Liverpool as a safe space for refugees & asylum seekers to obtain support and find friendship.
Here’s what Preeti had to say about our donated laptops:
“Receiving laptops from the Turing Trust has been such a great help to Hope Cafe and has greatly enhanced the services we are able to provide. It has allowed the refugees and people seeking asylum who visit our cafe to access much-needed language learning programmes through a variety of games and activities. It has also helped them develop their IT skills.
Since receiving the laptops, we have been able to use them to support our visitors with filling forms and accessing other services. The laptops are also currently being used to digitise Hope Cafe documents, maintain records, and to help us move towards a paperless system.
These donated laptops have been such a blessing, a massive thanks to the Turing Trust from everyone at Hope Cafe”.
