Transforming Education for Students with Disabilities in Malawi

We are thrilled to announce we’re launching a new project designed to support students with disabilities across Malawi. With support from the Hodge Foundation, a charity that backs projects that have effective solutions to help those most in need, we hope to install computers at 30 schools, providing digital skills and equipment to 12,750 Malawian students.

As part of this funding, a pilot project will focus on providing IT access and tailored support for special schools that serve students with disabilities. We’ll be working closely with these schools to develop new resources that make digital learning more accessible for their students.

As a charity dedicated to ensuring every child has access to the tools and resources they need to succeed, this project is a big step forward for us. We’re passionate about being able to cater for different needs and are so pleased to have the opportunity to expand our resources to support more students. Students like Encret, who has a physical impairment that limits his ability to write.

Working with our partner, Computers for Enhanced Education, we supplied Encret with a special computer to support his studies. The device is equipped with accessibility features which have transformed Encret’s classroom experience.

Encret’s story has inspired many others in his school. With our new project, we will be able to support thousands more students like him.

We’re so grateful to the Hodge Foundation for their support – the grant we’ve received will be instrumental in bringing this project to life. The funds will cover school installations, shipping, project management, refurbishment and monitoring and evaluation.

We look forward to sharing more with you throughout the year – watch this space!
