Back in 2020, Madam Monica Chakwera, the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi, founded the Shaping Our Future Foundation (SOFF), which aims to support the development of pupils from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds, improve access and equity in education and build a more inclusive future.
Since then, the SOFF has made a real impact on the lives of thousands of people and supported over 120 secondary schools across Malawi. One such school is Mzuzu Government Secondary School, which recently received 20 computers donated through The Turing Trust, with support from our partners, Computers for Enhanced Education.
As a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged communities through education, we were thrilled to have an opportunity to support the work of the Shaping Our Future Foundation. The donated computers, which were delivered by Madam Monica Chakwera herself, will ensure more students can access vital digital resources to support their learning and help shape a brighter, more inclusive future through the power of technology.

When we started our work in Malawi back in 2016, only 3% of Malawian schools had access to computers. We have now brought IT resources to an equivalent of 81% of all the secondary schools in the Northern Region – and that’s largely thanks to your donations!
Whilst we have made fantastic progress, there is still a way to go. Head to our Get Involved page to discover how you can support our work and help us to build a more inclusive future.
